Knowing how to move forward when you are unexpectedly pregnant can feel impossible. And if you’ve given birth, you’re likely navigating some new challenges and want extra support.

What Do our social workers do?

Social workers help people navigate challenging and stressful situations. When someone is experiencing a crisis or needs extra support, a social worker acts as an advocate by finding the resources they need to thrive. They can also provide additional support during an emergency.

Our social workers can help with the following:

  • Providing referrals to mental health services (i.e., psychiatry, rehabilitation clinics)
  • Helping you find prenatal, pediatric, and primary care providers
  • Assistance with rent and housing issues
  • Creating a personalized “plan of action” to help you accomplish personal and professional goals
  • Helping you adjust to significant life changes (i.e., pregnancy, birth of a child, divorce)
  • Referring you to legal aid and government services
  • Reproductive loss grief support
  • Providing continuous support and follow-up services

With a support person by your side, you may find that the tasks you once thought were impossible can now be achieved. There’s no shame in seeking help; our social workers are here to identify your needs and support you every step of the way.
