If you suspect you may be pregnant, time might seem to stand still. You may have more questions than answers right now, and that’s okay.

You don’t have to navigate these next steps alone. Soundview offers services through onsite independent medical professionals so you can get the answers you need. It may seem like life has just thrown you a curveball, but you’re more equipped than you think to move forward.

Common Symptoms

First, you’ll need to confirm a potential pregnancy. Common pregnancy symptoms like a missed period or fatigue can indicate other health conditions, hormonal shifts, and more. Getting some initial answers can help you decide what to do next.

If you do have symptoms, you may experience:

  • Missed period
  • Tender, swollen breasts
  • Nausea (with or without vomiting)
  • Fatigue
  • Frequent urination
  • Constipation
  • Cramping
  • Nasal congestion
  • Food aversions
  • Moodiness
  • Bloating

If you have any of these symptoms, it’s best to test for pregnancy. Many women use home pregnancy tests from grocery stores or pharmacies. Home pregnancy tests are accurate if taken correctly, but the timing is crucial.

You’ll want to wait to take a pregnancy test until at least a few days after a missed period or several weeks after sexual intercourse. This gives hCG levels (human chorionic gonadotropin) in your body time to develop. This pregnancy hormone rises rapidly during those first weeks, but if you test too early, you may receive a false negative.

My Test is Positive. What Do I Do?

If your pregnancy test is positive, it isn’t quite time to make a decision. You’ll want to confirm essential pregnancy details before taking your next steps.

Soundview provides access to free pregnancy testing performed by on-site, independent medical professionals. Their medical-grade testing ensures you’ll receive an accurate result.

If your test results are positive, you may be offered a same day ultrasound to confirm your pregnancy. This scan verifies key details so you can protect your health and make an empowered decision.

No matter what you’re facing, we’ll help you chart a path forward. Schedule a free, confidential appointment today.
